Create An Outdoor Kitchen For The Ultimate Aussie BBQ

Outdoor kitchens are perfect for those who love to entertain in the great outdoors. Not only do they keep the mess out of the house, they allow you to prepare food without having to remove yourself from the party.

Here's our top tips for a great outdoor kitchen space;

Stainless Steel Appliances

It's important to remember that an outdoor kitchen is exposed to the elements such as rain and wind, so you'll want to make sure your appliances are suited to the conditions. When it comes to an outdoor kitchen sink and tap, we recommend marine grade stainless steel, especially if you are located near the coast as it will prevent salt erosion.

Seating

We love the idea of seating that can be moved around. A table that can seat an intimate family dinner but can also be deconstructed and moved around to accommodate for larger gatherings.

If you have a grassed area, we also love the idea of picnic rugs and small tables for boho inspired decor or kids seating.

Non-Slip Tiles

While glossy floor tiles may look flash, ensure they are non-slip, especially if you have a pool close by to ensure no one slips and hurts themselves.

Garden

A garden or plants around the outdoor kitchen give a resort like feel. Strategically place plants to block out neighbouring homes or to hide plumbing, electrical or gas bottles.

Shade

Make sure your outdoor kitchen has enough shade for hot summer days, in the same breath, make sure there is plenty of ventilation if you have a BBQ in the space. Umbrella's are a great option if you're not looking for a permanent structure and you can move them around as the sun rotates throughout the day.

Enjoy your outdoor kitchen all year round by adding some portable heaters too.
