What are Thermolaminated Kitchen Doors?

One of the most common questions we get asked here at The Blue Space is what is the difference between Thermolaminated kitchen doors and 2 pac painted doors? We're here to give you the in's and out's of the materials to help you decide what best suits your needs and upcoming kitchen renovation.

Thermolaminated kitchen doors (also known as Vinyl or Thermo) have been in the market for the better part of 15 years but the range has expanded rapidly in recent years. Thermolaminated doors provide a hard wearing surface with no imperfections and is a cost effective material.

While people in the past have stayed away from a vinyl finish due to shrinking or peeling, Thermolaminate is the new and improved finish to replace the traditional vinyl product. Over the last couple of years thermolaminated doors have undergone new manufacturing processes, new technology and new materials to ensure the product is heat resistant and extremely durable.

The patterns and profiles that can be achieved with thermolaminate are very detailed and available in gloss, texture, woodgrain, Matte and all in hundreds of different colours.

2 Pac Kitchen Doors are a premium option for your kitchen and in short are painted doors. A 2 pac finish consists of two containers of liquids (1) A resin composed of acrylic paint (2) Hardener. When the two liquids are mixed together, a chemical reaction occurs that causes the mix to harden to a thicker, durable finish.

2 pac kitchen doors can be painted in any colour you wish. So, if you've got a specific colour or shade in mind to match your home decor, this is the way to go.
