Small Laundry Design Tips

Small Laundry Design Tips

The laundry is one of the most practical rooms in the home, but if you've only got a small amount of space to work with, here are our top tips to make the most of a small laundry.

1. Opt For a Single Sink Or Skinny Laundry Tub and Cabinet

With less and less soaking required with new and improved laundry products, a deep single bowl laundry sink is perfect for a small laundry space. Choose from single bowl stainless steel sinks or white ceramic single bowl sinks

If you're after a laundry tub and cabinet combo, the Clark Utility Mini 16 Litre Laundry Tub and Cabinet is the perfect choice and one of our best sellers!

2. Consider Your Cabinetry

Make the most of additional storage in your laundry, think about somewhere to put your cleaning products, hide your dirty clothes hamper and even to keep extra linen.

Cabinets under your laundry sink and overhead cabinets work best in a small laundry space, tall cabinets can also fit into narrow corners.

Laundry cabinets used to be mostly metal and over time rust, these days, laundry cabinets are available in a huge range of colours and finishes to compliment your design style.

3. Colour Palettes

There's something so refreshing about a white laundry and as an added bonus, it also makes the room feel larger. Pair neutral palettes with natural lighting and you have a beautiful little space to work with.

Our top tip is to keep the walls white and add colour or patterns through your floor tiles or splashback.

4. Stack Your Machines

While you can traditionally fit more clothes into a top loader washing machine, front loader washing machines are perfect for smaller laundries as you can stack a dryer on top. If you have additional room above or between your stacked machines, opt for an open shelf for your washing powders.

5. Robe Hooks In The Laundry

Need to hang school bags, belts or beach bags? Robe Hooks only take up a small amount of room on the wall and the perfect addition to keep things off the floor.
