How to Measure Your Blinds

Complete Guide to Measuring your Blinds

Before you begin measuring for your blinds, make sure to read through instructions thoroughly, make a checklist of what you need, amount of people needed to install your blinds, and then start the installation process.

Take your time with this and remember to contact us with any questions!

Measuring for Recess Blinds

Your Checklist

  • 1-2 People
  • A quality Tape Measure (metal is best)
  • A step ladder to reach the top of the window.
  • A pen and some paper.

How to Measure

Measure the inset of your window. You will need to measure the total width and height of your window in three places - the bottom, middle and top. Then, measure the depth of the windowsill itself.

Measuring for Face Fit Blinds

Your Checklist

  • 1-2 People
  • A quality Tape Measure (metal is best)
  • A step ladder to reach the top of the window.
  • A pen and some paper.

How to Measure

Measure the total width and height of your window including the architrave. You will need to measure in three places - the bottom, middle and top.

Note: When measuring for romans and blinds, we recommend allowing an additional 50mm outside of your architrave to maximise the amount of light your window lets in when your blinds are open.
