Kitchen week on The Block always raises the bar, and this season Adam and Jolene delivered one of the most talked-about reveals yet. Tapware: Antique Bronze for Warmth and Depth

Antique bronze was the tapware finish of choice in Adam and Jolene's kitchen, and it's easy to see why, its deep, slightly aged tone reads warm and grounded against timber cabinetry, without the high shine of a polished metal. It's a finish that only gets more characterful with time, picking up a soft living patina rather than showing wear. The same tone continued into the butler's pantry, keeping the "hidden" workspace visually tied to the main kitchen.

Benchtops & Splashback: A Soft, Textured Neutral

Instead of stark white or heavily veined stone, the kitchen leaned into a soft, light neutral surface with subtle natural texture and movement running through it. It's understated by design, a backdrop that lets the warm oak cabinetry and aged metal finishes take centre stage, rather than competing with them. The kitchen sink was finished in the same antique bronze as the tapware, rather than a standard stainless steel, a small but deliberate choice that keeps every touchpoint at the sink working as one cohesive moment, rather than tapware and basin reading as two separate decisions.

Cabinet Handles: Antique Brass for Contrast and Warmth

Where the tapware and sink lean bronze, the cabinet handles were finished in antique brass, a lighter, warmer aged metal tone. Rather than clashing, the two metals sit together as a considered mixed-metal palette, adding richness and depth without tipping into "matchy" territory. Against the warm oak woodmatt cabinetry, the brass hardware picks up the same honeyed undertones for a finish that feels tailored rather than off-the-shelf.

Storage & Lighting: Function Built Into the Finis

Behind the warm cabinetry fronts, the kitchen and butler's pantry are fitted with pull-out storage, illuminated drawers and specialised internal inserts, the kind of details that don't show up in a photo but make the space genuinely work day to day.
