A freestanding outdoor bathtub needs to handle sun, rain and temperature swings that an indoor bath is never exposed to, so material choice matters more here than anywhere else in the home. Every bath in this collection is a solid stone composite construction built for exactly that.

Choosing the right material

An outdoor bath should be a solid stone composite construction rather than standard acrylic, since acrylic can discolour, crack or warp under prolonged UV and temperature exposure outdoors. Turner Hastings' TitanCast and MagnaCast baths in this collection are both stone composite, built specifically to hold their finish outdoors.

Ranges in this collection

This collection spans Turner Hastings' Cambridge, Blanche, Claremont, Narva and Camden ranges, each available in one or more sizes across the TitanCast and MagnaCast material lines. The ranges differ mainly in tub profile and length rather than material, so start with the shape and footprint that suits your outdoor space before comparing finishes.

Freestanding or back-to-wall

Most baths in this collection are freestanding, but the Narva range also includes a back-to-wall configuration, which suits an outdoor layout where the bath sits against an existing wall or screen rather than as a standalone piece. Check the specific product listing for which configuration a given size and range comes in before planning your outdoor layout around it.

Drainage and installation

An outdoor installation needs a stable, level base and drainage planned around your existing outdoor plumbing point, since a stone composite bath is significantly heavier than acrylic and can't simply sit on an unprepared surface. Confirm waste and overflow position against your outdoor plumbing before ordering.

Finishes available

This collection includes gloss white, matte white and satin silk finishes across the TitanCast and MagnaCast ranges. Satin silk gives a softer, less reflective finish than gloss white, which shows less water spotting outdoors.

Why an indoor bath won't work outdoors

A standard acrylic bath rated for indoor use isn't built to handle direct sun and rain exposure, and using one outdoors can void the manufacturer's warranty.
