Dummy Levers

A dummy lever is a lever handle with no internal mechanism, fixed permanently in place rather than connected to a latch or spindle. It's used on the inactive side of a double door pair or as a pull on a fixed panel, giving a matching handle to grip or push without any moving parts behind it.

What is a dummy lever exactly

Unlike a working lever handle, which rotates a spindle to retract a latch, a dummy lever is bolted straight to the door face and doesn't move. It exists so that both leaves of a double door, or both faces of a single door, present a matching lever even though only one side actually needs to operate a latch. Where dummy levers are used

The most common application is the fixed leaf of a double door, which is usually bolted top and bottom and rarely opened, but still needs a handle to match the active door for a symmetrical finish.
