Wall shelves buying guide

Timberline's Splice range gives a simple, floating timber-look wall shelf in two profiles and four lengths, suited to a bathroom, hallway or living space where you want display or storage space without a full cabinet.

Splice versus Curved Splice

The standard Splice shelf has a straight, simple profile, while Curved Splice has a softened, rounded front edge for a slightly less angular look. Both mount the same way, so the choice comes down to which profile suits your space's existing lines.

Choosing a length

This collection spans 300mm, 450mm, 600mm and 900mm lengths. A 300mm or 450mm shelf suits a single display item or a small stack of towels, while 600mm and 900mm give enough length for multiple items or a longer run above a vanity or bath.

Installation and weight considerations

A floating wall shelf needs to be fixed into a stud or with appropriate wall anchors rated for the shelf's expected load, since a longer shelf carrying heavier items puts more strain on its wall fixings than a short shelf with light display pieces. Confirm your wall type before choosing a length if you plan to store heavier items like stacked towels or bottles.

Where these shelves work well

A single Splice or Curved Splice shelf above a bath, beside a vanity mirror, or in a hallway gives display or storage space without the depth and cost of a full cabinet, and its floating design keeps the wall below it visually open rather than boxed in.
