How to Install Roman Blinds

Complete Guide to Installing Roman Blinds

Before you begin installing your blinds, make sure to read through instructions throughly, make a checklist of what you need, amount of people needed to install your blinds, and then start the installation process.

Take your time with this and remember to contact us with any questions!

Step 1: Measure the frame of your window. You will need to measure the total width and height of your window in three places - the bottom, middle and top.

Step 2: Using a pencil, mark where you will be placing your brackets on the frame of your window.

Use the holes on the bracket as a guide for where to draw your markers.

Step 3: Using a drill, screw your pilot holes in through the bracket. The pilot holes are used as a guide for where to place your screws for the brackets during installation.

Step 4: Using the pilot holes made earlier as a guide, screw your brackets into the window frame.

Step 5: Lift and install your roman blinds into place. Blinds should just roll and clip into the hooks on your brackets.

Note: It is at this point you need to ensure the chain operation is working correctly. To operate your blinds, use the front chain only.

Step 6: Using the cord tidy clip, make a marker of where you would like to drill it into the window frame. Drill your pilot holes, then secure the cord tidy clip to the window frame. This must be placed a minimum of 1500mm above the floor.
Tip: Place the cord tidy clip closer to the glass window to avoid the Venetians hitting the clip when rolling your blinds up and down


If using easy glide roman blinds, secure the child safety hook that is supplied already hanging on the chain to the side of the windowsill using a drill. This ensures the chain stays in place within the window frame.
Note: After install, leave your blinds down for 1-2 days to allow the blind fabric to stretch about 60mm to it’s finished size.

Step 3: Using the pilot holes made earlier as a guide, screw your brackets into the window frame.

Step 4: Lift and install your roman blinds into place. This is a two person step if your blind is longer than 1.2m. Blinds should just roll and clip into the hooks on your brackets.

Note: It is at this point you need to ensure the chain operation is working correctly. To operate your blinds, use the front chain only.

Step 5: Using the cord tidy clip, make a marker of where you would like to drill it into the window frame. Drill your pilot holes, then secure the cord tidy clip to the window frame. This must be placed a minimum of 1500mm above the floor.
Tip: Place the cord tidy clip closer to the glass window to avoid the Venetians hitting the clip when rolling your blinds up and down


If using easy glide roman blinds, secure the child safety hook that is supplied already hanging on the chain to the side of the windowsill using a drill. This ensures the chain stays in place within the window frame.
Note: After install, leave your blinds down for 1-2 days to allow the blind fabric to stretches up to 60mm to it’s finished size.
