Appearance and Wear

Appearance Ratings:

Tiles may vary in colour, texture, or appearance according to the manufacturer's design for that particular tile series or product line. The ratings have been developed to help you understand the level of unique variation you can expect from your tiles. Tiles that are rated V2 or above will show distinguishable colour, texture or pattern differences between tiles. The higher the number, the more variation between individual tiles.

Ratings V3 and V4 tiles have the greatest variance, but it is important to note that all of the categories above have some range differences, consequently they should be checked before installation to ensure you’re totally happy with the variation range
Ceramic tiles should also be selected from several cartons randomly and laid with the bisque logo and or arrow facing the same direction, the latter avoiding aesthetic issues.

V1 - Tiles installed will have uniform overall appearance with minimal texture and colour variation
V2 - Tiles installed will be similarly coloured with slight variation in texture and pattern
V3 - Tiles installed will feature moderate variation in appearance of colour and texture
V4 - Tiles installed will have substantial variation in colour and texture for a unique appearance

Wear Classification:

Wear classifications will tell you the expected level of wear resistance and durability once installed. The classifications will also help indicate where the tile is best suited based on the different levels of foot traffic the room may experience.

Category 0 - Intended for wall applications only; not suitable for flooring.
Category 1 - Ideal for interior wall and floor surfaces exposed to low-abrasion wear with bare or soft-soled shoes, perfect choice for a residential ensuite bathroom with no external entry.
Category 2 - Ideal for interior wall and floor surfaces exposed to regular wear, with soft shoes or bare feet and occasional exposure to abrasive dirt. Bedrooms or main bathrooms are common applications.
Category 3 - Ideal for wall and floor surfaces exposed to medium wear with normal footwear and some exposure to abrasive dirt. Perfect for spaces such as in living areas, bedrooms and more.
Category 4 - Ideal for wall and floor surfaces exposed to heavy duty wear by regular traffic, with normal footwear and some exposure to abrasive dirt that is more severe than Class 3. It can be used in entrances, laundries, patios and more.
Category 5 - Ideal for wall and floor surfaces exposed to extra heavy duty wear by severe traffic over sustained periods with exposure to some abrasive dirt. Often used in places like foyers, commercial shops and other high-traffic areas.

Installation & Care

Tiles must be laid in accordance with the Australian Building Code and the appropriate Australian standards. It is essential that the tiles are installed by a licensed tiler and they have a written contract detailing the scope of work as failure to do so may void any warranties.

It is important to note that colour, size and texture can vary from batch to batch. To ensure the closest match, always order an extra 15% as it can be difficult to match shade and colour between batches.

Before installation, please check that you are happy with the colour and shade markings of the product. As installation constitutes acceptance of the product.

Care & Maintenance:

Tiles are easy to care for and maintain. General care of the tiles can be maintained with the sweeping and vacuuming of loose debris.

If deeper cleaning is required a proprietary tile cleaner can be used, but avoid the use of abrasive cleaners and substances that can cause permanent surface scratches and damage. You should always follow the manufacturer’s instructions, and ensure that the cleaning solution is thoroughly removed and dried with clean water and a dry towel or mop.

Warranty & Returns

For peace of mind when buying with The Blue Space, you are covered by up to 2 Years Warranty on Bluespace Tiles.

Bluespace Tile products come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. This warranty covers manufacturing defects in materials and workmanship for domestic and residential use only and excludes incorrect installation, installation by a non-licenced tiler, accidents misuse, improper maintenance and negligence by any party or third-party.

Please note, goods need to be inspected prior to installation for any breakages and that you are happy with the colour and shade markings of the product. Please note fixing of the product constitutes acceptance of the product and cannot be returned.

About Samples

Our samples are cuttings from an actual tile for the best representation of the final product. It is important to note that due to the natural variations during the production of tiles between batches, the actual tile you receive may differ slightly in color, shade, texture and pattern to the sample tile.

How will my tiles be delivered?

All tile deliveries unless advised otherwise will be packaged onto a pallet, this way we can ensure the protection and safe delivery of your tiles.

Our drivers are equipped to deliver heavy products to the front entrance of single level house only with flat drive ways. For apartment or challenging sites, the driver will need assistance from trades or customers to move products. Please let our team know if there are access difficulties at your home. Redelivery fees will apply if the driver is unable to deliver products when they arrive to site.

Do we offer custom quotes?

Delivery costs and timeframes

Our tiles are stocked in Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane and are usually dispatched within 2-3 days of your order being placed. You can easily calculate shipping costs by adding your postcode into the shipping calculator on the product page. We also offer a pick up service from these locations. Samples

Can I order a full size sample?

Yes, we can organise a full size sample of any of our tiles. Please reach out to our customer experience team to have this ordered. The cost will be the same as a regular sample box per full tile you require. Please note that 1 full tile per colour can be sent as a sample. If you require more then 1 peice of a colour or tile you will be charged for 1 full box. This cost will be redeemable on your first full tile order up to the value of $30.00.

How long will it take for my samples to arrive?

You samples will be dispatched within 48 hours of you placing your order. We send our sample boxes with Auspost. We 7-10 business days for your samples to arrive depending on where you are located in Australia. If for any reason a sample is not in stock we will contact you to arrange a replacement or for your box to be sent without the out of stock item.

How do I order a sample?

Simply click on the "Get a Sample Cutting" from any tile product page. If you would like to add vanity or tapware samples you can shop all samples here

Why do i need to add 15% wastage?

We recommend ordering an extra 15% of tiles over and above the exact quantity required. This is to ensure you have spares for any breaks and also to allow for any offcuts during the installation period. It is important to note that colour, size and texture may vary from batch to batch. By ordering 15% extra you reduce the chances of running short of tiles and missing out on matching the batch and shade if required to order extra tiles.

I would like to order bathroom products with my tiles, will it all be delivered together?

Generally no, your tiles will be delivered seperately. Please contact our customer experience team to discuss options if would only like there to be one delivery customerexperience@thebluespace.com.au
