Black taps were, at first, thought to be a passing trend — but now they are here to stay. Although coloured tapware is still few and far between, a beautiful matte-finished black tap matched with black shower accessories, towel rails and door hardware can make a striking, modern statement in your bathroom.

Does this then mean that apricot bathrooms are making a comeback too?

The short answer is … no.

While coloured fittings are starting to make a comeback in a big way, it is mainly in neutrals like black, as noted above, and charcoal or brass, as standout feature pieces.

The apricot, light blue and light green fittings favoured in the ‘80s aren’t on their way back just yet (and, we hope, never again!).
