How to get the scandinavian look:

  • Work with a soft colour palette – think white, pale grey and pastel paint colours
  • In Scandinavian style homes, clean lines and minimal design are key
  • Keep it simple and stick to two tiles - one for a statement and the other to balance the room/the look
  • Light coloured timber accents are a Scandi staple and add warmth and texture
  • Contrasting textures enhance the space – try bamboo mats, textured tiles, sheer curtains and plants
  • Minimal doesn’t have to mean empty – decorate carefully with like wicker baskets, stylish ornaments and display shelving

Traps to avoid:

  • Being boring – Scandinavian design is minimal, but still ultra cool

Scandinavian

Inspired by Scandinavian design, the Scandi collection brings simple, yet beautiful design into your space. Combine light timber, whites, soft greys and a touch of greenery in your overall space.

The Scandinavian Style is inspired by Northern European countries; Denmark, Norway, and Sweden. Northern European design is comprised of simplistic, minimalistic elements of style. There is a large focus on clean, simple lines without compromising functionality. The Scandi style consist of whites, a light and airy space, and natural elements including timber colours and different shades of green with live greenery to bring balance to the room. Bringing colour into the room would add another level of character to the space. These colours can range from blush shades, matte black, and even shades of blue, sometimes small bursts of colour are enough to bring that sense of character.

The Scandi interior style is perfect for those who like looking at an open space that is decluttered, and brings warmth and comfort. 

How to create a scandinavian bathroom

Want to create a scandi styled bathroom? Read on below for our top tips!

      • Include a light timber vanity with matte black or chrome tapware and an above counter basin
      • Opt for a double shower head in your choice of fixture finish
      • An oval shaped matte white freestanding bath
      • A behind-the-wall toilet if your renovation allows or a back to wall toilet is also great alternative
      • For tiles, keep it simple and stick to two different tiles (one for a statement, and the other to balance the look). For statement, we love a textured white or light grey tile, or even a hexagon or herringbone style feature wall
      • Decorate your with pops of colour to bring character into your space, or keep it simple
      • Choose flowers or greenery that resonate with your style, and rugs and towels that you love
